Are you looking for the burial place of an ancestor? then we may just be able to help you. We have a comprehensive database of Inscriptions & Photograph's which have been gathered by a small group of dedicated researchers. It is important to our future to preserve as much of the past as we can. In fact, some would say it is our duty.

What could be more exciting than finding that piece of information that leads to the next phase of your research. We will try to help every step of the way in your quest to discover the truth. We are after all, researchers ourselves and know the value of solid reliable information in order to tie up that loose end.

Researchers more than ever these days, rely on Church Records & transcriptions to aid there quest for answers. Over the years however, this has become more difficult owing to weather, wars, natural disasters etc, which have either damaged or faded the stone inscriptions. This is the main reason for our existence in cyberspace. To preserve our past for a better future. To this end, we have prepared with the assistance of various other people, a database of churchyards & inscriptions from the UK. As this is an ongoing project, the database shall be updated on a regular basis.

Some of the most important common problems Researchers face are described in a few simple questions:

1. "How accurate is the information? "
2. "Can I authenticate the information?"
3. "Is the information up to date ?"

In order to answer these questions, the Researcher/Genealogist, needs to not only find the information, they need to authenticate it. After all, when data that can sometimes be over 250 years old and survived wars & acts of God etc, is found, it is essential that one treats this data as suspect until certain basic points are covered:

Don't accept people's word that the document is factual or has been authenticated - CHECK IT YOURSELF.

It's been in the family for 100 years? How often have we heard that only to discover it was in fact discovered in the loft when the house was purchased.

We do all our own research, so you can be 100% confident, that the information is reliable.

Join a Family Research Society. These people are commited and can offer invaluable advice. they would also value your support & input. Find your local branch here.

Use your Local Library. They have Census, Death & Marriage details on Microfiche. They also offer internet access to Ancestry sites.

Search newspapers & periodicals from the time. Once again, your Library has some newspapers stored on Microfiche for browsing. Also, do not forget to search the national papers. Some of these offer browsing online..

Parish Registers will need to be searched if you have managed to progress pre 1837. A good starting point is here.

Try to compile a list of Parish registers for your research. A list is here

 

Who should use this site: Researchers. Geneaologists. Schools & College's studying Genealogy. Use it in conjunction with your Local Library . Private individuals researching there family history. People living abroad who cannot physically get to the Cemetery. A need to see there Photographs or inscriptions of there Ancestors Grave.
